The Area Meetings programme is one of the most important aspects of IPPS - enjoyed as much for the opportunity to meet up with other IPPS friends and their guests as for the opportunity to visit nurseries, gardens, research institutions, and other horticultural establishments that you might not normally get the chance to see. IPPS is a horticultural 'open sesame', and we often get behind-the-scenes access. Many Area Meetings are also held on members' nurseries and are a great informal opportunity to share ideas about propagation and production techniques or new plants you have come across. Nearly everyone goes home having learned something new that they can put into practice in their own job.
GB & I is divided into 8 areas, each having its own Area Secretary. Each area has at least one meeting a year. As a member you get free entry to one area meeting of your choice - it doesn't have to be your own area. We particularly encourage non-members to attend, as these meetings are the best way to get a taste of what IPPS is all about.
The dates for this year's meetings have been finalised as far as June, starting with the first meeting in the South East area on February 25th. We will be updating the website with the remainder of the dates in due course. We hope that by arranging the dates in advance it will give you an opportunity to organise your diary. We know that this improved notice resulted in an increased attendance at the 2010 meetings.
