Joining the IPPS puts you among the best informed people on
plant propagation, production and cultivation techniques

Some of the more obvious benefits are detailed below; others are less tangible
but equally important – initial links forged between members which grow into friendships lasting lifetimes.

The International Plant Propagators Society was founded in 1951 in the US and is now organised into eight Regions - three in the US plus Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Scandinavia and Great Britain and Ireland.
Each Region is run by its own local committee or board, chaired by its own President, and each maintains its own finances.
Each Region also elects an International Director and Alternate, who represent the Region on the International Board.

The IPPS Region of Great Britain and Ireland includes members not only from the UK and the Republic of Ireland but from most other member states of the European Union as well as many countries in Eastern Europe. In fact more than 20% of the 450-strong membership is based in ‘continental’ Europe.

The Region has been granted funding from the IPPS International Board to spearhead expansion of the Society into Eastern Europe, where an enthusiastic membership is developing, particularly in Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria. In these countries a number of key people are helping to propagate the IPPS ‘seek and share’ ethic by maintaining contact with current and potential members and by organising conferences and workshops under the auspices of IPPS.

The chance to pick up technical tips from those with experience, or pose a specific question on the website’s noticeboard where members from all around the world will be able to see it.
