Plant breeding workshop, Monday, July 16
A plant breeding workshop on Monday, July 16, organised by IPPS GB&I, will give aspiring breeders an insight into the UK and European Plant Breeders' Rights trials at NIAB.
The PBR system, which demands tests on the distinctness, uniformity and stability of new varieties, will be explained by Elizabeth Scott of NIAB, while other speakers will describe the impact on the industry of ProVar, a new organisation established to market and manage new protected plants in the UK, and PlantNet UK, a grower network set up to find, grow and sell new plants.
